the only time you'd have trouble without hardened seats is if you were always pushing it hard hauling heavy loads - even as a daily driver in 'recreational' mode, you could put many thousands of miles on it without problems, many of us here still have original engines in use trouble free .... but if it was just rebuilt, why didn't the valves get upgraded??
