Automatic columns are CHEAP! many folks want to go standard tranny or after market floor shift and the old Automatic column is worthless. I got mine for my '71 C-10 for $15! I tore it down and rebushed it and added a new Shift indicator, fiber optic light socket, and turn signal assembly and repainted it. I didn't NEED to do all that stuff, but you know how it goes. Total cost; under $100 for an essentially brand new OEM column! Put an ad in "parts wanted" here on 'the 'bolt" or poke around the local JY. What you want is a '62-'72 unit. The '73 up have the ignition switch on the column. Look at the '71 C-10 pics under "More pix on Photobucket" in my signature line to see the one I described.

Worthless, is not the word I would use for describing a '63-'66 Chevy truck automatic steering column. If you want all of the wiring to be correct & be able to plug-n-play and look correct, you will need a '63-'66 Chevy/GMC truck automatic steering column.
