Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 62 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 62 | '53 3100 216 12v system i'm putting in a 12v voltage regulator and i swap over the battery, armature and field wires from the old regulator, but there's another box mounted on the firewall.. it has a field wire going into it, and nothing going out of it. the other side of the box is labeled "IGN".. looking at the electrical diagrams, i'm not seeing where an ignition switch wire would go to this box, and i can start and drive the truck just fine with just "FLD" going into this box. i don't want to remove it if i don't know what it's for. the "FLD" wire going into it has the proper cloth wire tracer for being a field wire, should i just put it on the field terminal on the voltage regulator and have two there, or what? the mystery box with the black tracer wire going into it mystery box next to my old regulator new regulator
