Then I put in 2 more quarts and check the level on the dip stick. Seems to be OK. The 5 minute run lets the canister fill and I don't have to mess with the filter after I have cleaned it all up. If you don't get the lid on just right it will leak like crazy. So when that lid is on I like to leave it alone. Hope this helps.
