I might be semi-wet on the above description. It appears there could be continuity between BATT and ACC when the key switch is turned to IGN, which is one position clockwise from center.

When in the ACC position, which would be one click counter clockwise from center, you should have continuity between BATT and ACC, but not IGN.

I'm sure I have confused you completely now.
