The white wire is the "signal" wire.Run that to the ignition switch so that it has 12 volts to it when the engine is running.The red wire can bridge over to the output lead(terminal marked BATT on alt).Run a 10 gage wire directly to the positive side of the battery.That's your charge line.I put a piece of 14 gage fusible link wire at the alternator termination for saftey sake.You might have to put a diode in line(on white wire)if the engine doesn't shut off when you turn the key off.Hope this helps!
