You may have standard nuts and they will work loose. A set of new nuts would not be expensive. If there is enough stud above the nuts you could double nut them and lock them together. Are the nuts "rounded" at the bottom to match the rocker? If not do you have a rounded collar that matches the rocker? Take the time to give it a good look.
