Since you're in the business you have an advantage over many of us with a higher level of related skills and better access to specialty tools and equipment. Maybe you could fabricate a dual evaporator system like was/is used in some Suburbans. The second evaporator could fit behind or under the seat and blow air on the back of your neck. The bracketry for the typical small Sanden compressor could be modified to fit the larger one, and a thicker or auxiliary condenser should fit in the front of the TF core support.
BTW did I meet you at the Inliners Convention in Carson City last June?
