For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | Chevrolet shows the same cam part number for 1938-40 in my 1940 parts book, and it has the same part number in my 1954 parts book for 1938-53 216 (1937 is by it's self). If Chev made any change in a part they gave it a new part number so 1938-53 should be the same cam. The steel gear shows 1937-39 taking one, and then 1940-62. The filer gear fits 1937-62. So to answer your question, if you put 1940 and later gears in a 1938-39 then the cam timing should be the same as 1940-62. Your 1941 should take the same gears they are selling today and is unlikely to have 1937-39 crank gear.
