Excellent question. I will be digging out my restored latch and strike this evening or next for a quick test fit.

Update: I got the door to fit very well. All rust perforation repaired with new metal. Door edges welded and ground down to a very consistent (close to) 1/8" gap. A little more fine tuning of he door edge to ensure they flush with cab sheet metal and then minor plastic filler. I have the door hung on the rebuild hinges and everything works well. Total time spent making a too large door fit and repairing rust was about 18 manhours.
