I'm not familiar with your headlight but in general you have one spring & two adjusting screws so you can aim the headlight. Each should be about 60 deg apart from each other. The retainer ring should have a shoulder that rides on each of the screws while the spring simply fits in a slot in the retainer. The hook on the spring fits in that slot (or hole). If you match the screw shoulders up to the screws it should show you where the spring goes.
The above is just a generalization & yours may or may not be like that but of those I've worked on, I've found most to be similar. Hope I didn't muddy the water.
