does it just 'keep climbing' for seconds, or does it never stop?
how fast is it climbing? moving steady or jumping?
how do you know you're actually 'holding steady' and not accelerating slightly?
how do you know you're doing 50?
I'd guess there's something binding so that the mechanism is struggling to get to where the magnet wants it to, or you messed up the hair-spring that controls the spin
