I had similar problems with the 1 barrel carb. I finally went with a Holly/Weber 2 barrel and adapter from Langdon's. The carb, adapter, linkage kit and required air filter ran about $165.00 including the shipping. Really runs nice and seems to give the old bolt a little more power.
