For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 56 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 56 | Been fixing up the 50 Chevy 3100 and working on issues as I find them. When I run the engine, it appears that the ammeter is not moving. I looked at the generator, but couldn't figure out which terminal is Field and which is Armature. Looking from the front of the generator, there are to terminals. The only markings are two triangles. One by each terminal. One points to the front of the generator and the other points to the back. I saw a general statement online that said "when looking from the front, the Field terminal is on the right". As for the generator, it's a Delco Remy 1102711, which was cataloged for a 49/50 Pontiac. | | |
