I need to order main bearings for my 57 235.
I have determined the following that they are 0.010 undersized dowel type.
Just to clarify.
Up to mid 1955 main bearings had dowel upper and lower insert mains.
Starting in late 55 they went to tang upper and dowel lower.
If you just ask for dowel bearings you may get the wrong set.
You should verify what your engine uses.
