I only get the funny noise, which is definately a knock,. when I exceed 1800 RPM and give gas. There is no knock when I let off the gas and the exhaust system is new so I doubt it could be an exhaust leak.
There are lots of things like tailgate chains and whatever that could be making noise but it is definately coming from the engine compartment.
I have a stethoscope so I'll try listening at idle but when I last tried this there was nothing but normal engine clatter.
I have a funny feeling that if it isn't a bearing it could be pre ignition. Maybe the advance isn't working correctly.
