At firing position each set of pushrods spin but some can be pushed down away from the rocker. (some can't)Actually pushing against the springs. Is this the "lash" that should be adjusted out or is this normal? I don't know what to do and would really appreciate some help.

If I'm reading this correctly you have your piston at TDC on compression stroke and your push rods for that piston are loose?
