Cassie and Deve, I'd be inclined to follow
the factory manual procedure, adjusting both valves on each cylinder at top of compression stroke [valves closed], and ultimately when the engine is "normalized", which means at operating temperature ... the TV procedure should get them close enough to start and warm the engine, but there's also a procedure in the manual for assembling from scratch
