Now would be a good time to pull the retainer & check the front brg. After you remove the retainer clean the brg. with brake clean or something. Shine a light on the brg. & slowly turn the shaft watching for any pits or scores on the balls & races. This brg is the first to go & can cause noises in the lower gears. It can be replaced without tearing down the trans.
