Hello Walt, I have to agree with everyone else. I've rebuilt several engines over the years, and cast is the way to go, they seat very quickly and with normal oil change maintenance they will have a long life. I used chrome rings in one engine I rebuilt, and they took a very long time to seal, also I believe the chrome being very hard, they are harder on the cylinder walls. Go with cast, you won't regret it. Just my two cents, Ken.
