Unless it is a pre MAY 1949 GMC or a post post 1955 first series they did not stamp identification numbers on the frame.

There is one exception, if the body is a FC (FORWARD CONTROL) it will be stamped on the frame.

We can tell you lot's of things you can do, but there are legal issues to deal with and you don't want to get caught by the Police or DMV for modifying your truck VIN's. The best thing is to be prepared with the information from your shop manual.
