I vote for a new wiring kit - if yer gonna keep the truck long term it's wise to start out in a way that means you'll never have wiring problems again .... if you do it right grin

loose/corroded connections should cause no problem other than a really crummy connection may not allow the gen/alt to keep the battery well charged
