For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 85 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 85 | I have a 1953 truck with a 235 engine in my truck along with a 3 speed manual transmission. I've rebuilt the transmission and changed gasket, seals etc on the engine. Now I'm ready to put the oil back in.
Is it better to refill using synthetic oil in the engine and transmission?
Someone suggested synthetic oil may damage the brass found in the transmission. What about in the engine?
