Just put in a 48 216 splasher in my 49 chevy. while cleaning up the external oil filter I have noticed that the oil lines will need to be replaced but do not know which ones go where. Does the port on the side of the filter go to the fitting that has the oil pressure gauge on it or does it go to the fitting to the left. Also while I am spending time ordering the parts I need can I (bypass) or. plug up the two openings on the side of the engine or do I need to pull a jumper tube from one opening to the other, don't want to run engine if these two openings need to be connected
