Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

Once I got the cluster out, we realized that part of the main wiring harness (several wires) under the dash had been cut and spliced back together. I don't know anything about the wiring in an automobile, but I guess it's time for me to learn. At least I have someone helping me that does know something. I don't want to burn the truck up.
So, the way it looks, it'll be about two more weeks before Homer and I can get together on a weekend and work on this.
The padded dash needs to be replaced, and I'm hoping to have the money to go ahead and order that when I get the other stuff so I can put it all back together at the same time.
The Tach wasn't fastened in. So, I'll probably do without a Tach for now, and just slide the old one back in the hole for now without connecting it.
I wanna do this right, and would really prefer to buy a new complete wiring harness and start all over agin while we're at it. Homer advises me against that, so I'm gonna listen to him.
I'll learn...
While I have the cluster out, I'll take some pictures and post them at the Sixties Chevy Trucks site on my page.
I simply want to have the truck "mechanically" sound. The appearance isn't a big issue to me.
Thanks,
