DwightViking1960,WELCOME!! LOVE that truck! I spent many hours in one almost identical to yours,(un-restored pic's.),back in the '80's! That old 283 used more oil than gas,but fired-up in any kind of weather. Trans/vac. two-speed shifted like butter,and never ground a gear,and I drove it,using the clutch,just to start in 2nd,lo-side! Thanks for the pics! Hauled hundreds,(if not thousands), 5-7-ton loads of roofing materials,tear-off,and gravel with the old girl. I don't recall a break-down,in the 8-years I drove it! When I first got the truck started and running,it sat for 15 years,and it only needed plugs,points,and fresh gas,and a carb re-build. Bled the brakes,and replaced some lights and wiring. She was on the road again for another 20 years,until the owner retired,and the truck went to the junk-yard,where they used it for several years,as a yard "Dog". HAVE FUN!!
