You got it! It was in one of the pre-war manuals. I had to go back two years but same hinges. It was in:
1937 Chevrolet News Bulletin
Commercial Bodies, Door Alignment
It says:
"Check vertical spacing of doors on hinge side" "If spacing is not correct, the hinges should be removed and bent to correct vertical alignment."
