If it fails to crank then, do I need to pull starter and try to clean it out? I already tried on one '58 apache and none of that did anything (well, I did get to see the fuel gauge work and headlight/taillight), but no cranking. My buddy said it probably sat and was "open" field and I should tap hard on the case with a small hammer? Or, should I remove it and somehow clean it out? Never disassembled a starter before, never worked on a footstomp one either.
