I replaced my gas tank and unit in my 55 Chevy PU and still the gauge does not work. While reading in a Classic Performance Products Catalog, it said that the newer sender unit had a 90 ohm resistor and that the old sender was a 30 ohm resistor. Since I used the tank and sender unit from an 88 S-10 Blazer (fits well in the frame where the spare tire goes), I assumed the sender unit is a 90 ohm because my gauge will not work.
So here is the question. Where could I find a resistor to change the 90 ohm to 30 ohms to use my stock gauge, or do I buy the “30 ohm” sender unit from CPP and hope it works in the new tank?
