I think this usually means that cell is bad. If you have somehow to load test the battery you can watch this cell and it will bubble and off gas..proof it is going south.

If you charge the battery for the prescribed time and the cell is still low, it is probably bad. Usually a shorted cell won't allow the battery to take a charge. If it isn't a critical transportation issue, charge it and drive it...if it is going to croak, it will surely let you know.

The SG on a fully charges 6 volt should be 1.265. The allowable difference between cells is .050. 50% charge in SG (specific gravity) is 1.190. If you add 1.190 and .050 = 1.240, which is less than the 1.265 specific gravity.

This is classroom stuff...see if it works in the real world. Charge the battery again and drive the truck. Take jumper cables!
