To get net on the problem, it's either electrical or mechanical. The brakes and turn signal are a single circuit. Are you saying you have taillights, but no brake lights or backup lights.
The backup lights are not connected directly to the brake circuit...unless they might share a common fuse. After checking fuses, I would crawl around under the truck and look for mechanical damage.
I am not sure the brake light circuit is fused. It is connected to the flasher, and it does go through a switch of some sort.
A inexpensive 12v tester is very handy for problems like this. Grab a wiring diagram for your year truck and see if there is any common denominator between these failed items.
