I'm not sure my generator is putting out enough juice, and would like to check it. I have a brand new shiny multi meter I got for christmas, but I'm embarassed to admit I'm like the little boy who finally coaxed the little girl into his red wagon. I don't know what to do next.
I think I should set the dial to the DC side, but where? I have number that read: 1000; 200; 20; 2000m; and 200m. I also would assume I put the two probes on the generator with the motor running, but which is the positive and which is the negative, or to put it another way, which is the red one and which is the black one, and what should the reading be.
I don't understand anything about anything electrical and hate messing with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Allen
