72 up GM vehicles had disc brakes with a dual MC and a booster. Typically they also used a proportioning valve and had a built in residual valve. Disc brakes require more pedal pressure hence a booster would be the preferred set up. How a disc brake MC designed for use with a booster would perform without the booster would be speculative. Some aftermarket suppliers offer a kit with brackets, MC, & proportioning valve for use without a booster. I don't know what parts they use or how well they work.
