overdrive doesn't affect the shifter, the 3 speeds are the same as any other trans, the OD is operated separate from the shifting, and the trans you have is the same as the one used in cars, the difference being, as others note, is the shape and length of the shifter re seat clearance, that's the only part you need to fab yourself
