How many stories have there been on this site of people starting these sixes after they sat for many years. I have one of those accounts myself. I would bet that if I had taken the engine apart before starting it, it would have looked a lot worse.

By the way that piston does not have a lot of time on it. I am going to guess that your cylinders are probably not worn much. You didn't have to remove a ridge to get the pistons out, did you.
