Ok. After hours of fighting with the stationary window and weather stripping, I got it in the window frame. Problem is I ended up cracking the glass on the stationary window. Eventually I'm going to have to do this all over again.
Does anyone have a trick to getting the glass in the weather stripping and everything in the window frame? There has to be a better way than what I did. Can you "lube" the glass and or rubber? I tried using soapy water but it didn't help much. The problem is that you have to slide the glass into the window frame. You can't just "pop" it in like you would a windshield. I tried keeping the rubber on the glass and sliding both into the frame. That didn't work. I then tried putting the rubber in the window channel and then sliding the window into the rubber in the frame. That worked OK for a while but then got stuck near the end. The rubber kept folding under the edge of the window. In an effort to dig it back out again I ended up cracking the glass.
Lots of frustrating efforts with little acceptable progress. Right now I'm going to try and finish putting it together and getting it back in the truck. I will then try to figure out how to do it better next time. I'll have to buy a replacement stationary glass and another weather stripping kit and start all over again.
HELP!!!!!
