I am in the middle of installing new rear sliding side glass in my 58 Burb. I remember seeing a tech story somewhere on reinstalling the glass and weather stripping. I have a new piece of glass and the kit from Classic Truck Parts.

I can't find the tech story and don't remember where I saw it. I found a good thread about it, but none of the pictures would load. I may have look at the story on another web site. My memory fails me. :-(

On a related note, what is the best way to handle cleaning/painting of the window frames? I'm new to the sport and have limited tools/resources. I don't have a media blasting box. Should I just wire bruch the frame and hit it with primer and paint? What about a rust proofer? The frame is in really good shape. Only sum minor surface rust. I want to do this right the first time so I don't have to do it again later.

One final question. Following the shop manual I had to drill out the rivets that hold the window from together at the top in order to get the stationary piece of glass out. How do I rivet that back together? I've never done any riveting. Is this a pretty simple process?

Does anyone know where I can get this info??

Thanks

Larry
