Mine is an old job - the way I understand it, a small FM receiver was added and it plays through the original AM tuner? You turn the system on and off to switch between AM/FM. Does that sound right?

I checked the date - it was more than 13 years ago - pre-iPod and pre portable/inexpensive MP3 players.
