Seriously, those radios are somewhat rare (it is the original accessory radio - the only style sold by GM); or, at least they are somewhat valuable. They sometimes sell in that condition (and, not working) for as much as $200 - $100 would move it fast (PM me).
It would cost you more than a few hundred dollars to get it properly restored.
Will you be staying with 6v in your truck, or changing to 12v? Very nice and $$$ 12v "reproduction" modern-internals radios are available:
without a speaker and
with a speaker in the original location.
