For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 112 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 112 | Tore it all down cleaned it up inspected it all.Not a nix or a scratch on any gears or teeth or shafts. However the rear bearing support and the contact area on the yoke are a mess. Can any one tell me if the bearing support has a bushing that can be replaced or the support is just replaced with a new yoke.It looks like there is a brass insert that is worn real bad and the support is not made out of brass . The yoke has some major scoring. I think i found my rattle when i start out in first gear, the tube cover over the uni joint was not loose at all. In fact it was major tite and could have been the cause of the damage with the bearing support. | | |
