if it isnt a vacuum hose or a hydralic hose it will colapse when you start the engine
ive used hydralic lines to go from the engine to the firewall with no issues but i had the lines made up so that they are a compression fit. when i put the hydravac on my 40 i used vacuum line and hose clamps from napa.
