the bumpers were optional cuz without it the tail gate can be dropped straight down without banging on the bunper and sticking out at an angle, better for farmers .... and those bumpers youse guys show are the same as the
ones for the 55-59's [factory/dealer option], which use an identical [or nearly]
license bracket - "step bumpers" [the checker plate things] were aftermarket .... remember the beds are the same 55-66
