foot stomp starter? the positive on the starter is before the switch so you have to push the switch to get the juice to the starter - your remote switch is for an key start setup
get a honkin big screwdriver [or pry bar] and get it between the switch and the firewall, watch distributer, push down on bar - easy, just make sure it's in neutral!
