jw, I converted my 235 to a Delco alternator.
I took a lower alternator bracket from a '67 6 cylinder chevy truck since the delco was OEM on that vehicle (the 8 cylinder won't work-totally different setup). I had to egg out one of the holes slightly (I think it was the front hole) and the alternator fit right in. For the top bracket I used my old generator bracket- which may not have been original, and had to bend it a bit. The top ones are easier since there are so many different configurations out there.
