Try searching in this forum on these words "HEI" or "Pertronics". You will find a lot of advice; some of it from people who have actually installed and used High-Energy Ignitions and/or Pertronics Ignitors (electronic igitions) in their 6v or 12v trucks.
I have had a 12v Pertronics Ignitor on a 261 for 7 years and a 6v unit on a 235 for about 2 years, both with no problems.
