| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 7 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 7 | Folks, I have scraping / gear teeth knocking when trying to get my 1949 4400 into gear. Ran great last year when I had her out with only a slight clicking while syncing up the gears, usually in first. Right now the truck's in the back of the shed facing the shed wall, so I'm trying reverse and I can't seem to get it to go into gear with the engine running, no matter how gentle I am with it. I did try all gears but cannot engage. It will go into gear with the engine off, of course, but I really don't need the clutch for that. When the engine is at idle its like the clutch pressure plate won't stop the flywheel from spinning. Two questions: 1)How / where do i adjust the clutch and 2) if I'm low on fluid - how do I check for that and what do you recommend for transmission fluid in the AD? Thanks for your help, MNLUGNUT | | |
