The one thing that I do know about these fuel gauges is that when I was looking for my AD truck it was not un-common to find the fuel gauge did not work,, all had been converted to 12 volts,,,like I said before I just got tired of trying to trace the problem down and installed one under-neath between my ignition and glove box, found 2 screws in the right place and just mounted it there,did not even wire it up to the ignition, just wired to the coil side of the dist....again trying to stay away from under the dash as much as possible, my neck does not like the kind of work..
