If it is an original 216 manifold/carburetor: no, the 216 carburetor's bolt-spacing is narrower than on the later 235. I guess you could get it to "physically" work/attach by enlarging the mounting holes in the carburetor's base.
The standard 216 carburetor will not allow your 235 to run optimally. Maybe someone else will discuss jetting and flow-volume?
