I have a '49 with a '56 235, headers, and one 2bbl h-w from Tom, home-made heat sink on a stock intake. Runs great. Daily driver, several 1500 mile trips, 20 mpg hwy. I hade my own linkage using Heim (small ball+socket) joints, smooth as silk.
