I looked and found three patterns of textured plate at 'McMaster-Carr'. Weave, diamond, and tread. It comes in at around $13.00 for a 12"x12" aluminum piece. I think the weave would look good. That part number is #9058k11 in 0.032" thickness. I use the 3-m tape trick on polished 1/2" sst half round bar I put on my slick running boards. Been there four years and still going strong.
